Episode 2: Stacie Glynn
I’ve known Stacie for almost 20 years! I’ve been learning how to be a mama from her for over 12 of those. I’ll never forget the time I found out she was pregnant with her first. I even remember what she was wearing — a grey sweater dress and grey heels. We were on the corner of Sacramento and Sansome in San Francisco and I went to go meet her for lunch (we worked together) after an appointment and she told me she was pregnant. I was so excited I hugged her so big — in fact I think I picked her up!
She’s since gone on to have 3 boys who are now ages 12, 9, and 8. We were together when she found out she was pregnant with her third as well. We lived it up in New York that weekend— let’s just say it was her last hurrah before she pushed him out 9 months later.
Stace is everything you want to emulate in a boy mom. Calm, cool, collected. She’s their friend but also keeps them in line. She’s fun & silly and strict at the same time. She fosters their curiosity, encourages their individuality, and ensures they know they can talk to her about anything. It’s a joy to watch her be a mom.
Stace is as soulful as they come, which is why I was so excited to have this heart-to-heart with her. We dive into:
Being a mom of boys
Deciding to have multiple and how things change with each child
Feeding your baby and how it evolves over the years
Maintaining your sense of self and independence as a woman and a mom
…and so much more!
We end on the 3 questions I’ll be asking every mama, so tune in to hear Stace’s answers.
What is one thing that took you by surprise or you feel like no one ever talked about that you learned was part of being a mom?
Take yourself back to the early days of your first baby. If you could give yourself one piece of advice to the first-time mom version of you, what would it be?
If you could sum up motherhood in one word or phrase, what would it be?
Enjoy and share it with a mom or soon-to-be mom friend of yours! Link on Apple Podcasts here. And you can subscribe to the show here.
