Episode 9: Elizabeth Perkins

Talking to Elizabeth is like being wrapped in a cozy hug. You feel so comfortable and safe during the conversation. It’s no surprise that she makes such a great therapist, and an even better friend. Elizabeth and I spent many an hour on long stroller walks down Coast Highway in Encinitas. While I didn’t have a baby at the time, Elizabeth did, and I learned so much from her in those early days of her motherhood journey. When I envisioned how I would be as a mom, I genuinely thought of Elizabeth and how I wanted to emulate her calm and confident demeanor. Hopefully I’ll actually get around to being that way for my second :)

In this episode we discuss:

  • Finding confidence and letting go of expectations as a new mom

  • Emboding the roles of therapist and mother

  • What gets easier and harder with each baby

  • The highs and lows of the nursing journey

  • Baby sleep

  • Finding and maintaining your sense of self as a mom

  • …and so much more!

You’re in for a real treat. And, as promised, I mention a book about conceiving the gender that you want, and it’s called The Babydust Method. I haven’t read it, so I can’t vouch for it, but wanted to share in case it sounds interesting to you.
